When to Use Test Strips
Test solution before each use to guard against dilution which may lower the
ortho-Phthalaldehyde level of the solution below its MRC. Test solution before immersing instruments.
How to Read Test Strip Results Properly
- Remove strip from bottle and immediately replace cap tightly.
- Completely submerge indicating pad of the strip into MetriCide OPA Plus Solution.
- Hold for two seconds and remove.
- Remove excess solution by shaking the strip.
- Hold strip horizontal.
- Read results at 60 seconds after removal from solution.
Pad will be completely magenta to indicate effective solution. If ANY YELLOW appears on the pad, the solution is ineffective. Discard the solution. See color blocks below for color change interpretation. If read after 60 seconds, color will gradually change to indicate fail.
